Enjoy drinking bourbon? Now you can become a Certified Bourbon Steward through the Stave & Thief Society with Rod Arnold aka “The Bourbon Whisperer” at Georgia’s Local & Award-Winning Legends Distillery!

Rod is an Executive Bourbon Steward with the Stave & Thief Society, the educational arm of the Kentucky Distiller’s Association and serves as a designated educator for Georgia, and is beginning classes for enthusiasts to become Certified Bourbon Stewards. 

In the bourbon world, this means attendees get to earn a lapel pin that tells the world “I drink whiskey, and I know stuff.” This is a fun 2-hour course that involves a little science, a lot of history and an educational comparative tasting. Legends Distillery is proud to host his inaugural classes in their private Legacy Room.

You will learn…

• What makes a bourbon a bourbon, and what separates it from other whiskies.

• What all those delightful bourbon descriptors mean.

• The real science behind the arts of distilling and aging.

• To clearly identify Kentucky’s legendary heritage brands and which famous distilleries created them.

• To build your own virtual flight of bourbons, demonstrating the similarities and vast differences   between the spirits, and eloquently and accurately describing their personalities and nuances with 

   nosing and tasting notes.

• Bourbon’s real Kentucky history, and how it may be far different than what you’ve heard all your life.
